Waddill_photoshop tips and tricks

I chose to change a current picture and make it look antique-esque.

The first step is to upload your picture and unlock the layer. Then you select Image/Adjustments/Desaturate to remove all the color from your photo and turn it into a black and white.

Right click on the layer in the layers palette and choose Duplicate Layer. With the top layer selected click on the “Create new fill or adjustment layer” and choose Photo filter. In the dialogue box, select "Warming Filter (85)" and set the density to 87%.

With the top layer still selected go to Filter/Blur/Gaussian Blur. Set to about 4.1 pixels.

With the bottom layer selected choose Filter/Noise/Add Noise. Set to about 3%, or wherever you're happiest with it.

With the top layer selected, create a new layer. Grab the Rectangular Marquee Tool and set the feather radius to 40 pixels and make your selection.Inverse the selection by Clicking Select/Inverse, then choose Edit/Fill and use black. Deselect the image. Reduce the opacity to about 70%, and viola! Your photo has an antique feel!
