Jessica-Pictogram System
These pictograms were done for the 2008 Olympics in Beijing. They were created by the Central Academy of Fine Arts. The basis of the pieces comes from the shapes of Chinese seal script coupled with modern simplification of the shapes representing each sport. This shows how the image can evoke the symbolism of both the sport represented and the country in which the Olympics were performed, China.
