Jessica-WPA Example

I chose the WPA poster for Hawaii National Park as my example. I like how the artist rendered the lava from the volcano using the contrast of silhouettes. The juxtaposition of the dark shapes of the figures and the volcano with shades of orange and reds of the lava give a real sense of the heat created by the eruption of lava. The darkness of the piece also lends to the feeling one may have of the potential destruction the volcano can have.
