Katie--WPA Example

As I browsed the search results for "WPA poster", one really grabbed my eye and wouldn't let go (and you know how painful that can be).

The play of light ties the far background to the extreme foreground. The warm colors of the background give a clue to the time of day, the blue beams of light between the trees move the eye from the top to the bottom and an equal mix of the two complmentary colors in the foreground give a sense of intimacy to the camping scene.
I like how the eye moves through the composition, not really focusing on any single thing, then becoming more focused on the camping scene at the bottom.
