Helvetica Man
Helvetica Man lives a very simple, but complex and busy life.
He is internationally famous and just about everyone in the world has seen him
before. It’s amazing how you can find Helvetica Man just about anywhere you
look such as in the streets, the bathroom, the airport, the park, the mall, or
at the hospital. He is also very helpful because he will tell you which
restroom to use, which direction to go, what to throw away and what not to
throw away, and what will happen if you do not do something the right way. As
busy and helpful as Helvetica Man is, he still finds time to spend with his
loving wife and children that he loves to take strolls with across streets and
through parks.
I would love to display the day in the life of Helvetica
Man the way he would want it to be portrayed, as simple as possible. I will
have multiple square signs, triangle signs, and etc. that resemble the various signs in
which you often see Helvetica Man. Within these signs will be a narrative of
the day in the life of Helvetica Man. I will illustrate everything chronologically.
I will take pictures of various signs of Helvetica Man, which will be incorporated
into my project. These pictures will include signs in places such as crosswalks,
bathrooms, recycle bins, trashcans, handicap signs, etc. I plan to hand draw
various text to further the narrative I will develop in the composition. An
alternative would be to hand draw Helvetica Man onto various signs.
