Article: Texas House Votes to Ban Texting while Driving.
Source: Dallas News

My article is about the proposed ban of texting while driving passing in the Texas House. This legislature would change the current ban (which only effects drivers under 18 years of age and bus drivers) to affecting all drivers. This bill would ban texting, emailing, reading, or instant-messaging while driving with the imposition of a $100 fine. The bill also excludes El Paso and Amarillo, which will have a total cellphone ban, which includes making calls while driving. The bill has been met with a lot of debate concerning racial profiling and giving the police too much power under the law. A similar legislation passed last session as well but was struck down by Gov. Rick Perry who stated that texting while driving was a personal responsibility. Next the bill will go to the senate for consideration.

For my illustration I would like to create an image of a driver demonstrating the dangers of texting while driving, possibly with an image of a police car in the rear-view mirror so as to invoke the idea of the ban passing as a law. For my collage, I could shoot the interior of the vehicle with the texting hands, and then simulate the outside objects with other photos.
