I have chosen an article called "Every woman needs a 'gaggle' of men" by Ian Kerner, a sexuality counselor. This article is about how single woman looking for love then you need to stop searching for "Mr. Right" and search for all the Mr. Right(s). According to this article every woman - single or not - should have her own gaggle, a group of guys that occupy different roles in her life. Women have different "gaggles" already in their life; the friend that you call after a bad day, the friend you call for a professional opinion, or the friend you call to go grab a drink with. According to Ian Kerner every woman should have a gaggle of 3 men. Apparently, when you date just one guy, you might feel pressured to commit, even
if you’re not ready. If you see two men, there’s often this
unspoken need to choose between them. But three guys tend to balance
each other out, it's the perfect tripod Just like your “gaggle," these three men can fulfill different needs -
maybe you like to see movies with one, travel with another and cuddle
with a third - which removes the burden of one man to fill all those
slots.
I envision for my 8x10 illustration a woman sitting at a bar (or maybe another setting) with a crowd of different "contestants" around her to form her ultimate gaggle. I think it would be nice to use a solid silhouette for all the different guys and maybe get some fun, funky colors going on in there. I'm still not 100% sure how I'm going to go about this, but it'll come to me! This article cracks me up and I think it will be fun for all the single ladies (and dudes) out there to imagine what their gaggle would be like.
