Traugott_P4 Reference and Thumbs

I have chosen to do the day in the life of a hiker/camper since I went on a camping trip this summer in Colorado. Many might think of the word camping and just think about sleeping on the hard ground in a tent, but people never really think about what great things the people who do go camping get to see and experience. To truly appreciate and gain respect for the great outdoors you have to fully immerse yourself in it, and take all other distractions away. Getting to walk up to the base of a massive mountain and camp at the bottom is an unreal experience, so I hope to capture that feeling of awe and astonishment in this project. For this project I am planning to depict the journey, the hike to a campsite, and the wonderful views they as the hiker get to see. I plan to use all of my own photos since I have so many from my trip. In addition, I plan to possibly capture a photo of my Nalgene since staying hydrated is a key part in the whole camping/hiking experience. For the hand rendered part of the assignment I was thinking to draw the cardinal directions; the classic N, S, E, and W. Through this assignment I want to really capture the beauty and simplistic nature of hiking/camping in showing what nature has to offer, and to encourage the viewer to go out and experience it for themselves. I want to achieve the ‘I want to go out and do that’ feeling.
