There are all kinds of authors in the world: journalists, fictionists, those who write fantasy, romance, horror and all other genres of creative writing. An author has the ability to create their very own world, or recreate a world in history, or enhance reality with their vision in the written word. They are all varied, but there is one thing that all writers, at some point in their careers, have in common. What happens when their creative channels are blocked and nothing more will come out of their pen? Authors sometimes experience a phenomenon called writers block, where they just can’t describe what they want to or can’t advance the plot or even know where they are going with what they are writing. There are several reasons for writers block. Fear, anxiety, a great change in their life, social status change, just not understanding their subject, the beginning and the end of a project are just a few reasons someone can come down with writers block, and it seems like almost anything can cause it.
Writer’s block can be very frustrating. It’s like talking to someone about your feelings but having no way to describe it and the other person just doesn’t get it. To deal with this affliction, some writers will turn to destructive practices. Some will resort to drugs and alcohol for inspiration or just to escape from the stress of writers block. In extreme cases they fall into a state of depression and self pity that is hard to break until their next inspiration. I want to describe with this project the frustration and desperation of writers block in the life of an author.
