Hayden_P4 References and Thumbs

A day in the life of a graphic novelist.

Graphic Novel: A graphic novel is a book made up of comics content. Despite that "novel" normally refers to long fictional works, the term "graphic novel" is applied broadly, and includes fiction, non-fiction, and anthologized work. It is distinguished from the term "comic book", which is used for comics periodicals.

A graphic novelist has the ability to let you look into the life of a family of mice that survived the Holocaust or a super hero that just saved the girl through illustration and (sometimes) narrative.  Graphic novelist spend hours and hours of their days sketching and coming up with new ideas on how to keep the readers intrigued. Being in a graphic novel class myself, I know the difficulties these authors face.  All the different angles and facial expressions to capture.  Making sure each character has a back story and a reason for being.  The creative process is in graphic novel making is absolute crazy.  I can't even begin to imagine the brains and patience a person must have to do this for a living.  That is why I have decided to represent in various ways a day in the life of a graphic novelist.
