Miles Davis 1926 - 1991

Miles Davis is arguably one of the most influential jazz musicians in history. He is a trumpeter who over the course of his career worked in a wide number of styles including bebop, cool jazz and jazz fusion. His musical collaborators are essentially a who's who of renowned jazz musicians. In 1959 Davis recorded his masterpiece Kind of Blue which is considered one of the best jazz albums in history. In his later career abandoned the styles he was so influential in developing in favor of more modern styles with modern rock and funk as influences. Davis died in 1991 at the age of 65
