I decided to make the subject of my stamps the legendary Walt Disney.
Walt, born on December 5, 1901 in Chicago Illinois, always had a love for the arts, pursuing his art career by studying art and photography at McKinley High School in Chicago. After joining the Red Cross in France, Once Walt returned and began a career in commercial art. He started a small company called Laugh-O-Grams. Walt became a recognized figure after making a success of his "Alice Comedies" in 1925. And by 1932 he won his first Academy Award for Flowers and Trees and in 1955 Disneyland Park in Anaheim, California opened. His worldwide popularity was based upon the ideals which his name represents: imagination, optimism, creation, and self-made success in the American tradition.
