JHenderson, Postcards

I chose...

Del Rio. A boarder city with an art center and school located at the Firehouse. Del Rio also has the Amistad Dam, which divides Mexico and the U.S.. In the middle of the Amistad Dam is two statues, one of America's bald eagle and the other is Mexico's eagle holding a serpent. The statues are meant to show peace between the two lands, a facet that makes me happy. In Seminole Canyon state park there is a statue of a Shaman from one of the first settlers in Del Rio.

Pharr, a city close to the beach. I chose this place solely for the purpose of exploiting the "pharr" "far" pun. Its a small town with a Jukebox museum, which actually seems pretty interesting. Other than that they are also host to some "rare" birds.

And finally, La Grange! Which sounds as dirty as its past actually is. La Grange was home to the most famous "chicken ranch" which, until 1973, proudly served its community with only the finest whores. This brothel was the inspiration for the play "The Best Little Whorehouse In Texas" which La Grange takes pride in. ZZ Top also mentions La Grange in one of their songs.
