"In 1979, George Segal, the famous Pop artist, was commissioned to create a sculpture to commemorate New York City’s Stonewall uprising in 1969 — the seminal (although not the only) event to kick-start the gay liberation movement." Author Leslie Cohen and her parter of 35 years, Beth Suskin, were the models for this sculpture. In "Love in the Time of Stonewall," Cohen tells T Magazine her story. My editorial image will be a depiction of the base elements in the title and story. My original image will be a rose, symbolizing love. My illustration will be an actuall stone wall, and I plan to use images of sculptures of two women interacting in some way. I would like to use an image of the actual sculpture if my composition allows it.
