For my “A Day In The Life” project, I’m thinking about creating my picture from the perspective of a musician performing on stage. This was kind of an easy decision as music is my main interest and having been on stage (though of course not to the degree in which the picture is portraying) I thought it’d be a neat opportunity. Originally I was thinking of doing a musician in the studio during the recording process, but the stage seemed like a better decision. The view from stage will be a picture not of my own, while the pictures I’ll take will be of pictures of my friends and I was going to place their heads (oversized of course) and place them over bodies in the crowd. For the text we have to scan in, I’m not sure yet but I may just resort to lyrics from a favorite song or some typical banter that performers yell out to get the audience pumped up for the show. For the drawing I’m thinking of either having an arm from a first person perspective extending outwards holding up a fist or the devil horns and maybe drawing musical notes around the frame of the picture.

After thinking about several different A day in the life scenarios, I have narrowed it down to a circus ringleader and a lifeguard. Both are quite different from each other.
For the ringleader, I was thinking of whimsical colors and incorporating a lot of circus elements. For my original photo, it would be of a jacket I have and then add decor and a embellishments in photoshop. I would also choose a quote relating to the circus and write that out for my text/drawing requirement.
As for the lifeguard, it is a bit more mundane but it would leave me with a greater range of options for my original photography. I could choose a pool, towel, sunglasses, etc to photograph. For my original drawing/text, I would probably choose to write out a quote or a phrase.

For this upcoming project, i have decided to do a fashion model. in a life of a model, you'd see photographers, clothes, shoes, accessories, the runway and the audience. i want to include all of these things in my visual. i want to use the runway as the background like the second picture above. For my own illustrations, ill be drawing/designing the clothes for the models. i am going to handrawn the outfits and then scan them to have a cartoony look. I will be taking pictures of my friends and use them as the models.

For the “Day in the Life of” project I have decided to do a surgeon. Daily a surgeon will see patients on operating tables, sets of surgical tools, and typically blood. I want to have all of those things but give it a slightly comical look by making the patient look like the man from the board game, Operation. Operation consists of an "operating table", with an image of a patient with a large red light-bulb for his nose. In the surface are a number of openings, which reveal humorously-named ailments made of white plastic: Broken Heart: a heart shape with a crack through it on the right side of the chest, Wrenched Ankle: a metal wrench in the right ankle, Butterflies in the Stomach: a large butterfly in the middle of the torso, Spare Ribs: two ribs fused together as one piece, Water on the Knee: a pail of water in the knee, Funny Bone: a play on the name for the upper arm bone ,the humerus, Adam's Apple: in the throat, Charley Horse: a small horse resting near the hip joint, Wish Bone: located on the left side of the chest, and the Brain Freeze: an ice-cream cone located in the brain. Players take turns using a pair of tweezers connected with wire to the board to remove the objects. If the tweezers touch the metal edge of the opening during the attempt, a buzzer sounds, Sam's nose lights up red, and the player loses the turn. I don’t know if I’ll use all of the objects of the game, but I want the patient to have the red nose so you can recognize the theme. I plan to hand illustrate the objects from his body, and my original photo will be of a person I choose to play the part of the patient.

I chose to do “A Day In The Life of a Luchador”.  Why? Because lucha libre is awesome.  I want my project to kinda look like coloring book page for kids. I plan to draw out a luchador’s daily routine. Maybe draw him at the gym? Eating lunch with other luchadors. Being admired by ladies. Wearing suits and his mask. Getting rubbed down and oiled up for a match. Flying through the air off the rope and crushing some other guy.  Being thrown flowers from fans. I guess the photo will be of his mask.  I have a couple in my apartment to choose from. Should be fun.

I am doing a day in the life of a wedding planner. I want to have the main focus be a weekly planner or a clipboard or binder or some form of organization to show the planning. I also want to have a pencil or pen in the picture and a calculator to show the business side. I think it would help to show either a wedding invitation or maybe business cards for florists or caterers in the picture too. I was also thinking of having a written out list in the picture of things that the wedding planner needs to get done like a to - do list or something like that. I was picturing all of these things being just like on a desk or table. I was thinking about drawing the planner or to-do list for my drawn illustration and for my original picture I thought I could take a picture of a table or desk that everything is going to be on.

For Project 4, I am thinking I will do “A Day in the Life of a Butterfly.” I plan to use cut-outs of 3 to 5 flowers scattered over the picture plane and to have a hand-drawn dashed line looping around and between them to indicate a butterfly’s fluttery path. All of the flower photos will be original.

There are several different background options I am considering for behind the flowers. I like the idea of having a slightly blurry/out-of-focus picture of a park with children playing in the distance; I also like the idea of having a slightly blurry picture of a flower garden as a background (I’m thinking the blurriness would lend a sense of depth—the cut out flowers being close up and in focus and the background distant and out of focus). If I use a picture for the background, I would probably hand-draw grass or flowers at the base of the picture plane. A third idea I’ve had, though, is to have an entirely hand-drawn background of either a park or flower garden; this option would make the cut out flowers stand out much more.

Since there are many other creatures that also go from flower to flower, I am considering putting the shadow of the butterfly on the grass in the foreground or a couple of other butterflies in the distance (if either is within the project’s parameters…).

Something I will probably need to be careful of is not having too much busyness; between the flower cut-outs and a separate background, I need to make sure the flowers and the butterfly’s path are the main focus.
