These are my thumbnails and roughs for my Animal Signs project. The roughs were drawn on the back of the thumbnails so the marker bled through, I apologize for that. The top drawings are my roughs and they're pretty close to the final project, with only a few alterations. I played a lot with the positive and negative space in order to make the bodies of the animals almost like silhouettes, making them appear like maybe light is hitting them from an angle only defining the necessary details in order to recognize what animal they are, and leaving out the more intricate details.
